Looking for love in all the right places? How about in your windows and doors lifetime warranty? Not sure why that matters? Let’s talk about that! A lifetime warranty can be the key to success in your long-term relationship with your windows and doors.
What is a Lifetime Warranty?
A lifetime warranty is a warranty on the whole or part of the product that could be for the length of your lifetime, but more often is the life expectancy of the product.
Why Does a Lifetime Warranty Matter?
A lifetime warranty can really come in to save you later on. They can be better than a shorter-term warranty such as a one (1) or two (2) year warranty simply because problems are more likely to happen over time with any product.
Ask All the Right Questions.
Not sure what the warranty means? Dig in and ask questions. The more knowledgeable you are about the warranty that is offered, the less surprised you will be later on if you ever experience any problems. Here are a few questions that should be top of your list when it comes to exploring your window and door warranty.
Is there a deductible?
Basically, if there is a problem even if it is covered, what are you going to have to pay out of your pocket?
Who is the warranty from?
Is it from the manufacturer, the company installing, or even a third party? Keep in mind, if you are installing your own windows and/or doors or if you are using a contractor/subcontractor, you will likely not have a warranty on any of the installation, so if something happens, you won't be covered at all.
What is NOT covered?
We tend just automatically to believe that everything is covered, but that is rarely the case.
Is there any maintenance required?
Often that is a place that a warranty can fail you. If there is any kind of maintenance required but you fail to do it, even if you didn’t know, that can void the warranty.
Is it REALLY Forever?
