Anaheim is a city located in Orange County, California. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city had a population of 336,265, making it the most populous city in Orange County and the 10th-most populous city in California. Anaheim is the second-largest city in Orange County in terms of land area, and is known for its theme parks, sports teams and convention center. Anaheim was founded in 1857 by fifty German families as a grape-growing colony. The city was incorporated as the second city in Orange County on March 18, 1876, and developed into an industrial center, producing electronics, aircraft parts and canned fruit. It is the site of the Anaheim Convention Center, the Honda Center and Angel Stadium, and is the hometown of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team and the Anaheim Ducks ice hockey team. Anaheim's city limits extend from Cypress in the west to the Riverside County line in the east and encompass a diverse collection of neighborhoods and communities. Anaheim Hills is a master-planned community located in the city's eastern stretches, home to many of Anaheim's affluent residents. Downtown Anaheim has a diverse mix of businesses and residential neighborhoods, and is the site of the Anaheim Packing House, a former citrus packing facility built in 1919 that now houses restaurants and shops. The Platinum Triangle, a neo-urban redevelopment district surrounding Angel Stadium, is planned to be populated with mixed-use streets and high-rises. Anaheim Canyon is an industrial district north of California State Route 91 and east of Imperial Highway. The city also has many neighborhoods that were originally developed for housing tracts and are now fully developed, including Anaheim Hills, Anaheim Resort, West Anaheim, the Anaheim Colony, the Platinum Triangle, and Anaheim Canyon. Anaheim is a charter city, and is governed by a city council composed of a mayor and eight councilmembers. The city council appoints a city manager to oversee the daily operations of the city. The current mayor of Anaheim is Harry Sidhu, who was elected in 2018. Anaheim is home to several sports teams, including the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball, and the Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer. The city is also home to the Anaheim Convention Center, which hosts conventions and other events.

Anaheim was founded in 1857 by fifty German-Americans. The city grew rapidly in the early 1900s due to the opening of several hotels and the construction of the Santa Ana Freeway. By 1970, Anaheim's population had exploded to over 300,000. This growth was largely due to Disneyland, which opened in 1955.
